The Hispanic National Bar Association is launching its inaugural Business Development Institute (BDI) and Corporate Board Training Program at the 2015 Corporate Counsel Conference in San Antonio.

Along with the demand for greater transparency, corporate boards face more complex oversight challenges, ranging from corporate governance, regulatory compliance, executive compensation, financial competency and general board communication strategies. In collaboration with the National Association of Corporate Directors, the nation’s foremost authority on board training, the HNBA’s innovative board training will focus on corporate governance issues, provide robust networking opportunities for our members with Hispanic corporate board members nationwide and create a pipeline for potential candidates to board service.

Part of HNBA’s mission is to increase the number of future Latino/a lawyers. To this aim, the HNBA offers multiple educational pipeline programs and initiatives to assist in the upward mobility of the U.S. Latino population; to positively impact the quality and quantity of legal services available to Latinos; and to provide the diverse perspective and ideas that Latino/a attorneys can contribute to the legal profession and to the U.S. society as a whole. As the sole national membership organization for Latino/a attorneys, the HNBA is uniquely positioned to address the numerous and complex barriers to entry, promotion and advancement challenging current and future Latino/a attorneys.
