Join the HNBA at its 6th Annual Corporate Counsel Conference and 20th Annual Uvaldo Herrera Moot Court Competition at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter from March 18-21, 2015. This signature event provides a unique setting for Corporate America and the HNBA to connect, offering opportunities for outside counsel to meet representatives from numerous Fortune 500 Companies. This year’s conference will give hundreds of attorneys, judges, and law students a valuable and enjoyable three-day program featuring Continuing Legal Education (CLE) panels on cutting edge topics led by experts from across the country, a variety of workshops, and one of a kind networking opportunities.

Additionally, the 20th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition will bring together over 30 law student teams from the nation’s top law schools, competing to enhance their skills as they prepare to enter the legal profession.

HIGHLIGHTS

The Hispanic National Bar Association is launching its inaugural Business Development Institute (BDI) and Corporate Board Training Program at the 2015 Corporate Counsel Conference in San Antonio.

Along with the demand for greater transparency, corporate boards face more complex oversight challenges, ranging from corporate governance, regulatory compliance, executive compensation, financial competency and general board communication strategies. In collaboration with the National Association of Corporate Directors, the nation’s foremost authority on board training, the HNBA’s innovative board training will focus on corporate governance issues, provide robust networking opportunities for our members with Hispanic corporate board members nationwide and create a pipeline for potential candidates to board service.

The volunteer program for 2015 Corporate Counsel Conference is now closed.

Part of HNBA’s mission is to increase the number of future Latino/a lawyers. To this aim, the HNBA offers multiple educational pipeline programs and initiatives to assist in the upward mobility of the U.S. Latino population; to positively impact the quality and quantity of legal services available to Latinos; and to provide the diverse perspective and ideas that Latino/a attorneys can contribute to the legal profession and to the U.S. society as a whole. As the sole national membership organization for Latino/a attorneys, the HNBA is uniquely positioned to address the numerous and complex barriers to entry, promotion and advancement challenging current and future Latino/a attorneys. As a student volunteer, you will have access to thousands of Latino lawyers, law professors, state and federal judges, legislators, and other legal professionals able and willing to help you in the pursuit of your educational and professional goals.
