The theme of this year’s convention is: “Power of the Past, Force of the Future”
The HNBA/VIA’s Annual Convention will be held from September 26-29, 2019 at the New York Hilton Midtown.
The Annual Convention attracts attorneys, judges, and law students from across the country, including public officials, business leaders, and General Counsels from many Fortune 100 and other corporations. Attendees take part in an engaging and comprehensive program that includes Continuing Legal Education (CLE Panels) on cutting edge topics with leading practitioners, national policy makers, and experts from across the country; networking events and workshops; exhibitors from prominent law firms, corporations, and government agencies; and a variety of social activities showcasing the best of what New York City has to offer.

By registering for the Convention, you agree to HNBA/VIA’s cancellation policy and grant HNBA/VIA the right to photograph, film, and use your likeness and voice in HNBA/VIA related publicity and advertising.
HNBA/VIA CONVENTION CODE OF CONDUCT
The HNBA/VIA is committed to providing a friendly, safe, supportive and harassment-free environment for all convention attendees and participants, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion or other group identity. We do not tolerate harassment of convention participants in any form. We uphold the highest standards of fairness, act as responsible citizens, respect equality and the rights of others, and treat all individuals with dignity. Anyone violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the convention without a registration refund, at the discretion of HNBA/VIA Leadership. This code of conduct outlines HNBA/VIA’s expectations for all convention attendees and participants, including members, speakers, vendors, media representatives, commentators, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, and staff.
HNBA/VIA CONVENTION DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION LIABILITY
Your participation in any HNBA/VIA convention is at your sole and exclusive risk. The HNBA/VIA may refuse admittance, may charge an admittance fee, or ask you to leave the convention at any time for any reason. By attending the convention, you agree and understand that in connection with your participation in any event or activity, you may be exposed to a variety of hazards and risks, foreseen and unforeseen, which may or may not be inherent in those activities and events. These inherent risks include, but are not limited to, the dangers of serious personal injury and property damage. You agree and understand that injuries and damages can occur by natural causes or by the acts of other persons or third parties, either as a result of negligence or because of other reasons. Furthermore, HNBA/VIA has not tried to contradict or minimize your understanding of these risks.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, to the fullest extent allowed by law, you agree to waive, discharge claims, release from all liability and indemnify and hold harmless the HNBA/VIA, its affiliates, officers, directors, agents and other partners and employees, from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from, injuries and damages in any connected with any convention events or activities. You agree and understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release be binding upon you and your heirs, executors, agents, administrators and assigns, and includes any minors accompanying you at the events.
The 2019 HNBA Annual Convention is a joint enterprise with
the HNBA VIA Fund.
