The 2020 HNBA/VIA Speed Networking & Corporate Connections Program is a sponsored program of the 2020 HNBA/VIA Corporate Counsel Conference & Annual Convention. 

HOW IT WORKS

Concept: The Speed Networking and Corporate Connections Program is one of the HNBA’s signature professional and business development initiatives. In accordance with our mission, to enrich and diversify the legal profession, the Program is designed to promote meaningful business relationships between America’s leading corporate law departments, as well as federal agencies, and Hispanic legal professionals.

Description: This focused and intimate networking opportunity allows in-house counsel and government agencies with hiring authority to identify outside counsel in practice areas where the legal department has an identified need. Law departments also use the program as a cost-effective, recruiting tool for internal placement of highly-qualified Hispanic attorneys.

Format: On Monday, September 28, 2020 from 5:00 – 6:30 ET, we will host a virtual reception for all participants.  During the reception, we will break up into small groups in virtual rooms to facilitate networking in a virtual setting.  During the week of October 19, 2020, we will schedule one-on-one virtual meetings (15 minutes each) for legal departments to video conference with their selected participants. 

*Note: Only participants selected by in-house counsel for interviews will participate in one-on-one meetings, but all participants will have an opportunity to socialize during the virtual reception.

ELIGIBILITY

(1) Be active HNBA members with 6 or more years of legal experience practicing law. Join the HNBA HERE.

(2) Be registered participants of the 2020 HNBA/VIA Corporate Counsel Conference and Annual Convention. Register HERE.

(3) Click the button below to login and verify steps 1 and 2 and receive access to the required forms & questionnaires.

Upon logging in to complete your verification, you will see two application links – one for in-house counsel and one for outside counsel. Please be sure to complete the appropriate application.

*In addition, the applicant’s law firm’s level of support must be at the Amigo level or higher (unless applicant is seeking employment as in-house counsel or with a government agency).

*Note: Solo practitioners and law firms with 1-5 attorneys please contact speednetworking@hnba.com regarding alternative sponsorship eligibility and requirements.

After you register, the HNBA will grant you access to an electronic file containing information provided by our applicants regarding their relevant experience for your review. The HNBA will also provide a form to identify applicants for one-on-one meetings, which will be held via video conference.
