 HNBA AMICUS BRIEF COMMITTEE

The Amicus Brief Committee serves to maintain the HNBA’s active role in important cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and other courts that affect our members. Within the last 3 years, the Committee has spearheaded multiple efforts, often in conjunction with other bar associations and civil rights organizations, to ensure that the HNBA’s voice is heard in the cases that matter most—including high-profile cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. This includes matters covering topics such as immigration, racial bias in jury selection, and civil rights. Chaired by Peter Karanjia (Co-Chair of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP’s appellate practice), the Committee draws upon the extensive experience of a number of HNBA members who are litigators and appellate specialists.
