May I present virtually?
All moderator and panelist presentations are in person only.

May I add or remove panelists without first seeking approval?
All requests to add or remove panelists must be submitted to and approved by the HNBA.

May​ I submit more than one PowerPoint?
Only one PowerPoint per CLE is permitted.

May I update my PowerPoint after the initial submission?
Yes, it can be updated but specific details as to the deadline will be provided after your CLE is accepted.

Are panelist and moderator travel costs covered?
No, travel, lodging, and food costs are not covered or reimbursed. The HNBA will provide complimentary day pass for the day of the CLE only.

May I submit different documents than those requested?
No, there are no exceptions. All documents requested must be submitted as one PDF in accordance with the instructions.

If I do not submit my packet consistent with the requirements, will it be accepted?
No, the packet will be returned and you be asked to submit consistent with the instructions. Noncompliance could potentially result in the CLE being removed from agenda and replaced.

Do I get to pick the date and time of my panel?
Once your CLE has been selected, you will be informed of the date and time allotted for your CLE. If there are any issues with this date and time, contact the CLE coordinator immediately.

Who is responsible for providing the final PPT file on the day of your presentation?
The moderator is responsible for bringing the final PPT file on a thumb drive or otherwise be able to access it electronically.

Will my CLE presentation be taped or recorded?
No, sessions will not be recorded.

CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION (CLE) PROPOSALS

Please review the tracks below and submit your proposal by 11:59 pm ET, Tuesday, December 6, 2022.


CLE TRACKS

Advocacy & Litigation (Two Day Track): This track will explore trending litigation topics, pre-litigation risk-assessment strategies; discovery, pre-trial and trial techniques, critical oral and written advocacy skills, and arbitration and dispute resolution, all designed to provide critical, cutting-edge knowledge and skills to litigation practitioners. Whether you are working in government, big law, a small firm or are a solo practitioner, learn how to sharpen your litigation and advocacy skills.

Corporate Counsel (Two Day Track): This track will explore fundamental and trending topics for in-house counsel, a role which is unique in the legal profession. The track will offer a series of presentations related to effective in-house lawyering; in-house counsel’s role creating value for themselves and their companies; in-house counsel new developments and trending topics; challenges stemming from crises and how to manage them; working with outside counsel and other company advisors and consultants; and best practices.

The Art of Successful Lawyering (Two Day Track): This track will focus on professional development and the resources necessary to be a happy, healthy and successful attorney. The program will examine issues related to work-life balance; effective navigation of social and networking settings, physical and mental wellness; techniques to deliver high-quality work product; integrity and ethics in your practice; professional and personal networking; marketing and branding tips; alternative careers; and more – all with a view towards preparing new and seasoned attorneys for achieving or maintaining the status of a successful attorney.

Public Interest/Government/Nonprofit/Military (One Day Track): This track will explore trending topics for public interest, nonprofit, government and military attorneys.  The program will offer presentations related to substantive legal subjects, best practices, techniques and skills; and challenges and new developments facing practitioners.

Transnational Affairs and Cooperation (One Day Track): This track will explore important legal and political developments in international law and transnational affairs, cooperation and collaboration among foreign governments, resources and support for foreign trained attorneys in the U.S. market and more.

Note: The person identified as submitting this form must participate on the proposed panel and will automatically be selected as the moderator of the CLE.  If the CLE is selected, the moderator is responsible for coordinating and timely submitting the CLE packets for accreditation.

POLICIES AND CODE OF CONDUCT

REGISTRATION POLICY:
Please note that you are not considered registered until registration payment is received. Payment must be sent no later than 2 weeks from submitting this registration. If we do not receive payment in 2 weeks, your registration will be removed and you will no longer be considered as “registered” at that specific rate.

REFUND POLICY:
If you are unable to attend CCC2023, you must cancel your registration no later than 11:59 pm ET on Thursday, February 16, 2023. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Erika Lopez-Tello, HNBA Director of Operations, at elopeztello@hnba.com. Cancellations received on or before the deadline above will be reimbursed fully minus a $95 administrative fee. Cancellations received after Thursday, February 16, 2023, will not be eligible for a refund.

  • Failure to attend CCC2023 shall not entitle you to receive any refund or credit.
  • Your notice of cancellation of registration does not otherwise affect or alter your hotel and travel arrangements and you remain solely responsible for the costs of your hotel and travel reservations, including applicable cancellation charges.

All substitutions must be submitted in writing to Erika Lopez-Tello, HNBA Director of Operations, at elopeztello@hnba.com.

COVID-19 POLICY:
Vaccinations or Proof of Negative COVID Rapid or PCR Test Required for In-Person Attendance
The HNBA/VIA will require all in-person CCC2023 participants to either be fully vaccinated and boosted against the COVID-19 virus OR provide proof of a negative COVID rapid or PCR test taken no earlier than 72 hours prior to arrival at CCC2023.
