Standing in Support
Offering Our Condolences and Assistance to Those Affected by Hurricane Helene
On behalf of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), we extend our deepest condolences to all those affected by Hurricane Helene. Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones, those who have been displaced, and everyone facing the immense challenges brought by this devastating event. We are particularly mindful of the harm suffered by Hispanic communities in the impacted areas of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, and we stand in solidarity with you during this difficult period.
In these trying times, it is crucial to come together as a community. The HNBA stands ready to support you in any way we can. We are also committed to helping rebuild and restore the affected communities, including Georgia, where we will be hosting our annual Corporate Counsel Conference and Moot Court Competition in March 2025. We look forward to this event and hope that our presence will contribute positively to the local economy.
As part of our efforts, we will be organizing special initiatives to provide direct support to those impacted by Hurricane Helene. We will be working with local relief organizations to ensure that our contributions make a meaningful difference. Below, you will find a summary of resource links by state for those affected by Hurricane Helene:
⇒ How to Help
- Volunteer to help. Sign up to volunteer with a reputable group or organization. Do not go by yourself to a disaster area. Look up volunteer opportunities on the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster website.
- Cash is the best donation. It’s important to donate responsibly. When people support voluntary organizations with financial contributions, it helps ensure a steady flow of important services to the people in need after a disaster.
- Identify what is needed. Before donating supplies connect with organizations working in the affected area to find out how much is needed and when it is needed.
