Intellectual Property Law Institute™ (IPLI™) Scholarships
Advance Your IP Law Career with a $5,000 Scholarship
The HNBA/VIA Intellectual Property Law Institute (IPLI) is proud to support the next generation of IP attorneys through the 2026 IPLI Scholarships.
Each year, the HNBA/VIA Intellectual Property Law Institute (IPLI) selects up to 30 high-performing law students to participate in a week-long program in Washington, D.C. The program offers immersive training in intellectual property and technology law through workshops, programming, and mentorship. Scholars who successfully complete the program become eligible to apply for $5,000 scholarships to support the next stage of their legal careers.
This year, ten (10) scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded:
- 3 Patent Bar Scholarships (Patent Bar prep course + exam fees)
- 7 Bar Prep Scholarships (State Bar prep course support)
- Scholarships are open to all eligible IPLI alumni
Applicants must meet the below criteria to be considered for the scholarships:
| • Be a graduate of the IPLI |
| • Provide proof of acceptance to sit for the Patent Bar OR submit final law school transcripts |
| • Submit a personal statement (up to 1,000 words) outlining your IPLI experience, commitment to the Hispanic community, financial need, and career goals in intellectual property law |
| • Must sign up for HNBA law student membership (complimentary) prior to disbursement of funds |
Deadline to Apply: All application materials must be received by Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
